Porcelain Veneers

Invisalign®

Many of our adult patients are unhappy with the alignment of their teeth but are hesitant to undergo orthodontic treatment because of the discomfort and aesthetic issues associated with metal or ceramic braces. That is why Dr. Andrew Biggs is pleased to offer Invisalign® invisible braces to his Spokane-area patients who would like straighter teeth, but do not want to wear traditional braces. The Invisalign® system works by using a series of transparent plastic aligners that are computer-customized to gently and gradually move your teeth into place. Each plastic mold is worn for two weeks, and removed only for eating, drinking and cleaning. After two weeks, the mold is replaced with a new aligner, which moves the teeth a bit closer to their desired positions. The number of molds needed to straighten a particular patient's teeth varies, but the average is often between 18 and 30 molds. The treatment time, meanwhile, is comparable to that required by traditional metal or ceramic braces.

Cosmetic Bonding

Cosmetic dental bonding is a quick and painless way to repair cracks, chips and other types of superficial damage to the teeth. Dental bonding uses a composite material that Dr. Biggs selects to match the color of the patient's natural teeth. Dr. Biggs then lightly scuffs the surface of the teeth to be bonded and paints on the composite resin. The resin is next hand-shaped to mask imperfections and fit in with surrounding teeth before being hardened with a powerful light. Though the resin is not as durable as porcelain veneers, with proper maintenance our Spokane-area patients can enjoy the aesthetic effects of cosmetic dental bonding for years to come.
